What I do is select my clip, choose in and out points, put it in the timeline, then I render just that clip into a 422 HQ pro res.
#NEAT VIDEO PRO FULL#
If you apply neat video to a raw totally untouched full clip with no in and out points it works like a dream. Super rare that anything gets dragged into the timeline in full but that's what you gotta do for neat video to work. And since we're editing here every clip is gonna have cuts due to the in and out points. Any effects, color correction or resizing or anything of that nature and neat video slows down signficantly. Not gonna get into the technical details about why this happens because I don't fully understand it but basically if your video has ANY cuts in it, neat video slows down signficantly. It also would freeze my timeline like a motherfucker if the playhead happened to go over the neat video clip while I was working. On my new machine if I use neat video on just one 10 second clip that adds another 15-30 minutes to my render time every time I use it. My new one can do it in 30 minutes so it's not an issue of horsepower. My computer is pretty beefy, my old one rendered a final cut 45 minute episode of the show I work on in 5 hours.
